The Revlon/UCLA Breast Center Tumor Board was established in September of 2008. This Board prospectively reviews all breast cancer cases treated by Revlon/UCLA Breast Center surgeons. A panel of breast cancer specialists meets every two weeks to review the diagnostic studies of all cases and to recommend a multidisciplinary treatment plan. The team includes UCLA faculty members from surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and radiology.
In each case, the Revlon/UCLA Breast Center Tumor Board’s findings and recommendations are recorded and presented to the patient's treating surgeon, who then communicates the recommendations to each patient. This program promotes comprehensive cancer care to all of our cancer patients. The program also offers an excellent learning opportunity to trainees of different specialties.
