Breast Pathology

Nicole Dawson, MD, is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she has been a faculty member since 2001. Dr. Dawson received her medical degree from UCLA and completed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and a fellowship in Cytopathology at UCLA. Dr. Dawson is an experienced surgical pathologist and cytopathologist who works closely with the breast cancer specialists at Santa Monica-UCLA Hospital.

Anne Hoyt, MD, is a clinical professor of radiology and medical director of Breast Imaging for UCLA, the Barbara Kort Women's Imaging Center in Santa Monica and Breast Imaging at the Manhattan Beach Imaging Center. She received her M.D. from UCLA and completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of California, San Diego, and a fellowship in breast imaging and ultrasound at the UCLA-Iris Cantor Center for Breast Imaging. Dr. Hoyt’s interests focus on breast imaging with expertise in imaging guided biopsy of breast lesions. She has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed book chapters.

Surgical Oncology

Cary Hsu, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in Residence and Board Certified General Surgeon in the Divisions of General Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Hsu completed general surgery training at UCLA and received subspecialty training in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute as well as the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. He joined the faculty in 2011 and has been dedicated to the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer, soft tissue tumors, and gastrointestinal malignancies.
 
Sara Hurvitz, M.D.
Sara Hurvitz, M.D.
Medical Oncology

Dr. Hurvitz received her M.D. from the University of Southern California, and completed her residency in internal medicine and postgraduate fellowship in hematology/oncology at UCLA. Her research has focused on lymphoma and breast cancer. Dr. Hurvitz leads several national and international clinical trials for breast cancer and is involved in developing the Breast Cancer Clinical Translational Research Program at UCLA.

Breast Surgery

Amy Kusske, M.D. is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery, and a Board Certified General Surgeon in the Division of General Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is the co-director of the UCLA Breast Center at Santa Monica, and specializes in the surgical treatment of breast cancer and breast diseases. She has extensive experience with sentinel lymph node biopsy, nipple sparing mastectomy, and the newest techniques in breast cancer surgery. Dr. Kusske has been in practice since 1999 and her office is located in Santa Monica.

Psychosocial Oncology

Suzanne Levanas, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with the Simms/Mann - UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology, a center that offers educational and support services to individuals and families touched by cancer. Suzanne is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work & a Certified Oncology Social Worker. She has almost 20 years of experience in oncology and specializes in breast cancer. Suzanne is also a cancer survivor who combines her personal experience and professional expertise to provide caring, compassionate support to individuals facing breast cancer.
 
Susan McCloskey, M.D., MSHS
Susan McCloskey, M.D., MSHS
Radiation Oncology

Susan McCloskey, MD, MSHS is an Assistant Professor of radiation oncology at UCLA. Dr. McCloskey received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and subsequently completed radiation oncology residency training at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. McCloskey also holds a masters degree in health services research from the UCLA School of Public Health. She is currently leading the breast program in the UCLA Department of Radiation Oncology, and an active consulting physician for multidisciplinary breast programs. Dr. McCloskey specializes in the treatment of breast cancer, the use of technically advanced treatment modalities, and her research focuses on quality of care, quality of life, and health technology and outcomes assessment.

Medical Oncology

Dr. Parvin Peddi is a full-time staff physician in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. She received her medical degree from Duke University and completed residency in internal medicine and initial part of her hematology/oncology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where she also served as Chief Resident. She completed her Hematology/Oncology fellowship at UCLA and joined the faculty, specializing in breast cancer. She is involved in clinical and translational research and in addition to seeing patients at Santa Monica Breast Center, Dr. Peddi leads the medical oncology aspect of the multidisciplinary team at the Revlon Breast Center, Ronald Reagan UCLA campus.
 
Charles  Tseng, M.D.

Breast Reconstruction, Plastic Surgery

Dr. Tseng is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. He was raised in Los Angeles where he attended Harvard-Westlake School and was a top-ranked tennis player on the US National Junior Tennis team. He earned his B.A. in Biology with a concentration in Economics at Columbia University, NY where he also played on the Varsity Tennis Team. He continued at Columbia University and received his M.D. He completed a combined residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center, IL. He then completed a combined fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Results of Dr. Tseng’s studies have been published in books, articles, and journals. Dr. Tseng has presented papers at the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, American Society for Plastic Surgery, Plastic Surgery Research Council and World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery among others. He has also published papers in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Clinics in Plastic Surgery.
