Neoadjuvant Treatment and Molecular Characterization

Neoadjuvant Treatment and Molecular Characterization of Locally Advanced Breast Cancer

Women diagnosed with large breast cancer have a poor prognosis because of the disease is more likely to spread to other parts of the body. This study will determine the amount of tumor shrinkage when chemotherapy is given before surgery. The study also seeks to identify possible predictors of patients' response to treatment. Eligible participants include women with a recently diagnosed breast cancer that is a least 2 cm in size, without any evidence of spread to other organs.
